This grading will wrap up our current semester, so be sure to attend classes, train hard, and stay prepared! If you have any questions about the grading process or requirements, feel free to ask during class.

As the festive season approaches, we want to share some important updates:

  • Last class before Christmas break: Wednesday, December 11, 2024
  • Classes resume: Wednesday, January 8, 2025

To kick off the New Year, we will hold a grading for all students January 29th. Be sure to mark your calendars!

Kumite Camp from December 15 – 17, 2023 with guest instructor Yevhen Motovylin at Mildred Hall School back gym.

Schedule

Friday

  • 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – 12 years and older

Saturday

  • 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM – Junior (6 to 11 years)
  • 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Lunch
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Teen/Adult (12+)
  • 6:00 PM – Dinner at Boston Pizza

Sunday

  • 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM – 12 years and older

2023 Fall Semester Grading

As we approach the end of the fall semester, please note an important date:

Grading: December 20, 2023

This is your opportunity to demonstrate what you’ve learned. Instructors will be preparing you in the coming weeks, so stay focused and work hard.

Remember, this grading will be the last class before the Christmas break. Let’s end the semester on a high note!

Saturday

  • 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Unsu
  • 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Gankaku

Sunday

  • 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Kata Performance Training

For the high belts this is a great opportunity to learn some new katas and gain exposure to how katas are judged at WKF events!

Kumite Clinic May 19 – 21

The Northwest Territories Karate Association (NWTKA) is hosting a Kumite Clinic at Mildred Hall Back gym on May 19 – 21. Special guest instructor Sensei Yevhen Motovylin will be leading the clinic. I highly encourage students to attend, this is a great opportunity to fit more training in before the end of the season!! There is no additional cost to attend since all students are members of the NWTKA.

NWT NCCP Canada Games Training and Workshops January 27-29, 2023

From January 27 – 29 the NWT Karate Association (NWTKA) is hosting NCCP Canada Games Training Sessions and Workshops.  Please see the attached poster for the location, schedule, and age requirements for each session.  For those that are too young to train at some of the sessions feel free to stop by and watch.  It will be a great experience for the children to see where they can progress as they keep training.

There is no additional fee for these workshops since we are NWTKA members.
